For the last few months, we have been 3D printing custom face mask fitters among other PPE devices for our medical customers and front line workers across Toronto and Canada. This work has enabled us to now offer this extended service to all of our customers and the general public.

A Great Collaboration of Partners
To allow us to produce these masks globally we have teamed up with Bellus 3D (as a certified Bellus Partner) who has created this phenomenal mobile 3D face scanning application and the idea for these peripheral fitters. By using Face Scanning and 3D Printing at Objex Unlimited, we have been able to assist in improving the seal of surgical, N95, and KN95 masks.
Many of our customers require adequate fit testing to return to work following new COVID regulations. To help these professional ensure their masks are correctly fitting, sealed and safe, we have teamed up with The Canadian Academy for Prehospital and Emergency Medicine Inc. (Canaphem) who offer on-location Quantitative Mask-Fit Testing, a medical professional company supplying the needs of healthcare practitioners and dental offices to help protect staff and customers by providing health and safety services.
Why We Chose This Material
In order to keep these fitters clean, correctly serialized, germ-free, and as safe as possible we have opted to stay away from lower grade ABS or PLA materials that you may see used for many Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) printed parts. We print all of our Mask Fitters using 3D Systems MED-WHT on our in house Figure 4 Standalone 3D Printers. As a Canadian Authorized Partner of 3D Systems this material is an optimal solution for our customers and is ISO 10993-5 and -10 standard biocompatible, Thermal Resistance to over 100degrees Celcius, and can also be sterilized by autoclave (a critical part of reusing these fitters in medical environments).
